Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. & The Legendary ils Sont Partis Band
October 30 @ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. & The Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band bring zydeco, blues and Louisiana roots music to The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen on Friday, October 30.
Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Buckwheat Jr. carries forward the musical tradition of his father, the late Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural Sr. He began playing rubboard in his father’s band as a teenager and took over its leadership after his father’s death in 2016. His own son now performs alongside him on rubboard, continuing the family’s connection to Louisiana’s Creole musical heritage.
The performance brings accordion, washboard and the band’s dance-driven sound to RVA for Halloween weekend.
