Soulful Sunday 2026

Henrico County Recreation & Parks will host Soulful Sunday 2026, an afternoon celebrating African American cultural traditions through dance, gospel, jazz and community activities. The program features African dance by Ezibu Muntu, gospel music from The Cousins of City Church, line dancing with Alma and jazz saxophonist James “Saxsmo” Gates. DJ Blu will provide music throughout the afternoon.
The event also includes cultural and craft activities, an Ezibu Muntu drumming demonstration, community vendors and food trucks. A Kids Zone will feature inflatables, a game truck, train and lawn games.
Stage schedule: DJ Blu opens at 4 p.m.; Ezibu Muntu performs at 4:15 p.m.; The Cousins take the stage at 5 p.m.; line dancing begins at 5:30 p.m.; and James “Saxsmo” Gates performs from 6 to 6:45 p.m., followed by DJ Blu and freestyle dancing through 7 p.m.
