Kite Day Returns to River City Sportsplex with Free Kites and Family Fun

Kite Day is set to return to River City Sportsplex on Sunday, April 12, offering a free, family-friendly afternoon centered on outdoor play and community gathering.

Running from 1 to 4 p.m., the event invites families to bring their own kites or pick one up on-site. Thanks to SERVPRO, free kites will be distributed to the first 1,300 children ages 12 and under.

Beyond kite flying, organizers have planned a range of activities geared toward younger attendees, including children’s train rides, bounce houses, music, and glitter tattoos. Refreshments will also be available for purchase.

As Richmond-area families look for accessible spring events, Kite Day continues to stand out as a low-cost way to get outdoors and connect with the community in a relaxed, festive setting.
