Comedian Gary Owen is bringing his No Hard Feelings Tour to Richmond this fall, with a stop at the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center on Friday, Oct. 2.

Known for more than two decades of stand-up comedy and appearances across film and television, Owen will take the Carpenter Theatre stage at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. The Richmond date is part of his No Hard Feelings Tour, his first major North American theater tour.

Owen built his career through a mix of observational comedy and storytelling drawn from his personal life, military experience and everyday relationships. Before becoming a full-time comedian, he served in the U.S. Navy and began performing stand-up while stationed in San Diego. His career gained national attention through BET’s Comic View, where he became the show’s first white host.

That breakthrough led to an expanding career on stage and screen. Owen’s film credits include Think Like a Man, Think Like a Man Too, Ride Along, Little Man, Daddy Day Care, Meet the Blacks and its sequel, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2. More recently, he appeared in Back on the Strip alongside an ensemble cast that included Wesley Snipes and Tiffany Haddish.

On television, Owen starred in BET’s The Gary Owen Show, co-hosted truTV’s Upload with Shaquille O’Neal and appeared as Zach the barber on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. His stand-up catalog includes specials such as Black Famous, #Doin’ What I Do, I Got My Associates, I Agree with Myself, True Story, Urban Legend and Breakin’ Out the Park. He also hosts the #GetSome with Gary Owen podcast.

For the Richmond stop, the performance is recommended for ages 12 and older, and tickets are currently on sale through Dominion Energy Center.

The venue offers assisted-listening devices and sensory bags. The published deadline for requesting ASL interpretation was three weeks before the performance; patrons seeking a late accommodation should contact the venue to ask whether a request can still be arranged.

Dominion Energy Center is cashless. Event parking at the Commonwealth Parking Deck is listed at $8, and electronic tickets are scheduled for delivery seven days before the show.
