Thousands of residents across the Richmond region are currently without power as outages continue to affect multiple counties served by Dominion Energy.

According to outage tracking data from PowerOutage.us, more than 20,000 customers in the Richmond metro area are currently without electricity. The largest concentrations of outages are being reported in surrounding suburban counties.

In Henrico County, roughly 8,700 customers are without power. Nearby Chesterfield County is reporting about 8,000 outages, while Hanover County has more than 4,000 customers affected.

The outages are part of a broader issue across Dominion’s service territory, where tens of thousands of customers across Virginia and neighboring states have been impacted.

Utility crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible, though restoration times may vary depending on damage to local infrastructure and weather conditions.

Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report them directly through Dominion Energy’s outage reporting system and avoid downed power lines, which can remain dangerous even after storms pass.

Dominion Energy has not yet provided a specific timeline for full restoration in the Richmond region, but crews continue working throughout the evening to bring customers back online.
