DESCRIPTION:Jazz in the Stacks 2026 \n\n\n\nThe 2026 Jazz in the Stacks Concert Series returns with six exciting performances from talented regional musicians. This popular series takes place on the second Friday of each month from April through September. \n\n\n\nEach live concert is hosted on stage inside of the Petersburg Public Library Conference & Event Center. \n\n\n\n2026 Concert Lineup \n\n\n\n\nFriday\, April 10 – Jay Baxter & J.A.M.\n\n\n\nFriday\, May 8 – The Fam Band\n\n\n\nFriday\, June 12 – Sounds Funny Band\n\n\n\nFriday\, July 10 – Kozy Cats Band\n\n\n\nFriday\, August 14 – Soul Unlimited Band\n\n\n\nFriday\, September 11 – Rodney Stith\n\n\n\n\nThe series is hosted by Micah “Bam Bam” White\, a comedian\, actor\, and speaker. He has appeared on platforms such as TEDx\, All Star Comedy Show\, and the movie Red Kool-Aid. His energy and personality help create a fun and engaging experience at every concert. \n\n\n\n“Jazz in the Stacks is part of the Downtown Petersburg tradition of ‘Friday for the Arts\,’ which we help keep alive\,” said Wayne Crocker\, Library Director. \n\n\n\nWhat once focused on visual art and an artist of the month has evolved into a musical celebration that honors the performing arts and the literary arts\, since someone had to compose and write each song. Each performance offers a safe\, welcoming space for the community to connect\, enjoy great music\, and celebrate local talent. We will not only have vendors to shop\, but it feature intentional programming designed to encourage connection\, collaboration\, and empowerment among women in business\, corporate leadership\, and entrepreneurship.\nNetworking Activity – Networking Bingo\nTo encourage meaningful engagement among attendees\, guests will participate in an interactive Networking Bingo activity. Participants will receive a bingo card with prompts designed to spark conversation and help attendees meet new people throughout the event. \nExamples may include: \n\nFind someone who owns a business\nMeet someone in corporate leadership\nConnect with someone launching a new venture\nMeet a student entrepreneur\n\nGuests who complete the activity will be eligible to win prizes donated by event vendors\, including products\, services\, and gift cards. \nShark Tank–Style Business Grant\nA highlight of the evening will be the Forever Girlfriends Shark Tank Like–Style Business Pitch Competition\, where women entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their business ideas for a $500 small business grant. \nProgram Details \nGrant Amount:$500 \nParticipant Criteria \n\nMust identify as a woman entrepreneur\nMust have a business idea\, startup\, or existing small business\nMust be present at the event to pitch\nMust complete the event application form prior to the mixer\n\nApplication / Sign-UpInterested participants will submit a brief application that includes: \n\nBusiness name\nShort business description\nThe problem their business solves\nHow the grant funds will be used\n\nPresentation Rules \n\nEach participant will have 3 minutes to pitch their business\nPresentations must clearly explain the business idea and impact\nNo slides required; verbal pitch only
