Mike PhillipsWebsite | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter World renowned saxophonist Mike Phillips is known as one of the most electrifying instrumentalists today. Mike is the first musician signed by Michael Jordan to the Nike Jordan Brand\, home of the Air Jordan\, and is the only musician in the world to have recorded and toured with the legendary “Big Three” of American soul and pop music: Michael Jackson\, Prince\, and Stevie Wonder\, not only as a member of the band\, but as a featured soloist. In 2023\, Mike Phillips launched Keep It Moving Music (KIMM)\, under the SRG Jazz label imprint. He was also recently named Sr. VP of SRG Jazz at the SRG-ILS Group (distributed by UMG). He is a recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Music Business and Entrepreneurship degree\, a recipient of The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and The Georgia Citizen Award\, which is the highest state-level honor given to a citizen. And notably is an amazing golfer; so\, if he’s not on a stage near you\, look for him on the golf course. Mike toured for nearly two years as part of the band for ‘Michael Jackson The IMMORTAL Tour’ by Cirque du Soleil. And music superstar Prince knew what audiences around the world know… when Mike Phillips puts his saxophone to his lips\, magic is about to happen. Prince once quoted “I was offstage\, listening to Michael Phillips take his solo. I was thinking ‘Wow\, listen to those people responding\, and all he’s doing is playing a saxophone.’ They can feel that what he’s doing is real. So many shows now…they are so dead. But here’s one man breathing into an instrument\, and the whole room feels alive. It made me want to rise up to that level when I came back onstage.” Prince\, Rolling Stone. No stranger to the sports world\, Mike Phillips is the first musician signed by esteemed basketball player Michael Jordan to his Nike Jordan Brand\, home of the Air Jordan\, opening the door for Phillips to build a rapport with some of the top professional athletes today. Mike performs over a dozen national anthems every year for a host of sporting organizations such as: Professional Golfers of America (PGA)\, National Basketball Association (NBA)\, National League (NL)\, Major League Baseball (MLB)\, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR)\, and the National Football League (NFL) just to mention a few. Check out his Instagram @Mike_Phillips for some of these exciting moments. Mike’s solo albums “You Have Reached Mike Phillips”\, “Uncommon Denominator”\, “M.P.3”\, “Pulling Off The Covers”\, and his latest\, “Mike Phillips”\, all debuted in the Top #5 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums Chart. As 2024 continues to make its ways into our lives\, be prepared as Mike Phillips will continue to bless our ears and souls with amazing new music from himself and from artists signed to his KIMM label imprint. Mike Phillips is here to stay and as he would say\, “the best is yet to come.”

SUMMARY:Stanley Clarke
DESCRIPTION:Four-time Grammy Award Winner Stanley Clarke has attained “living legend” status during his over 50-year career as a bass virtuoso. He is the first bassist in history who doubles on acoustic and electric bass with equal ferocity and the first jazz-fusion bassist ever to headline tours\, selling out shows worldwide. A veteran of over 40 albums\, he won the 2011 Best Contemporary Jazz Album Grammy Award for The Stanley Clarke Band. Clarke co-founded the seminal fusion group Return to Forever with Chick Corea and Lenny White. In 2012 Return to Forever won a Grammy Award and Latin Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Album\, Forever. Clarke’s creativity has been recognized and rewarded in every way imaginable. In 2022 Clarke was selected by the National Endowment for the Arts as one of its four new Jazz Master honorees. This is the highest honor that the United States bestows on jazz artists. He was Rolling Stone’s very first Jazzman of the Year and bassist winner of Playboy’s Music Award for ten straight years. Clarke was honored with Bass Player Magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award and is a member of Guitar Player Magazine’s “Gallery of Greats.” In 2011 he was honored with the highly prestigious Miles Davis Award at the Montreal Jazz Festival for his entire body of work. Clarke has won Downbeat Magazine’s Reader’s and Critics Poll for Best Electric Bass Player for many years. In September 2016 he became a part of the permanent collection displayed at the Smithsonian’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington DC. In 2023 It was announced that Clarke will partner with Santa Monica\, CA’s\, BroadStage as its Artist in Residence. This multi-year partnership includes performances\, curation\, and mentorship for Santa Monica College Music Department and Santa Monica High School Jazz students. The cornerstone of the residency is the launch in three years’ time of an intergenerational jazz festival in Santa Monica. Unable to tour most of 2020\, Clarke’s Pandemic work involved developing a web series\, Stanley Clarke’s Bass Nation. The project is about the dynamics of the music industry\, recording and performing\, and include Stanley’s conversations with noted musicians\, gear reviews\, play-throughs and performances. An accomplished film and TV composer of well over 70 projects\, his credits include Boyz N The Hood\, the Tina Turner biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It\, Romeo Must Die\, The Transporter and Best Man Holiday. He has garnered three Emmy Nominations and a BMI Award for his scoring. In 2014 Clarke was invited to become a member of the exclusive Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. All reservations are subject to a food and drink minimum of $15 per guest. Gratuity of 20% is automatically added to all food and beverage purchases. Jonathan ButlerWebsite | Facebook | Instagram Jonathan Butler is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who leads a life few can imagine. Born in South Africa under the shadow of apartheid and raised in poverty\, Butler was the first non-white artist to be played on South African radio and appear on national television. Though his musical abilities would take him away from the world he grew up in\, Jonathan would neither forget the plight of his fellow South Africans\, nor the man that led them to freedom. It is for this reason Nelson Mandela credits Butler’s music as having inspired him during his imprisonment. In more ways than one\, Jonathan Butler is representative of South Africa. Jonathan’s story begins at a very young age when his father presented him with a homemade one-string guitar. Little did his father realize that he was giving way to a musical phenomenon. From then on\, Jonathan’s musical gifts grew by leaps and bounds. In his early teens Butler won a local talent contest\, affording him the opportunity to perform with a touring musical company throughout South Africa. On occasion he would perform at lavish concert halls for whites only\, where he would not be allowed to use the bathroom\, and the very next night he would perform in a dilapidated local township. Ultimately\, his ticket to a new life was music. At thirteen\, Jonathan’s talents caught the eyes and ears of the British record producer Clive Caulder. He was signed to Caulder’s Jive Records and the rest is history. Jonathan’s first single broke down racial barriers becoming the first song by a black artist played by white radio stations in South Africa and won the South African equivalent to a Grammy®. His commitment to his craft came to fruition with his self-titled debut album\, which received a Grammy® nomination for the pop hit “Lies.” An instrumental “Going Home” earned him another Grammy® nomination and the mid-tempo ballad “Sarah\, Sarah” confirmed Butler’s place in popular music. However\, to Jonathan Butler\, success is measured on a higher plane. A religious and spiritual man\, Butler dedicates his life to being a devoted father and grandfather\, and a caring citizen to his homeland\, South Africa. And in spite of all the hardships\, Jonathan Butler has an air of playfulness and quiet resilience that is easily visible in his passionate performances.

SUMMARY:Patti LaBelle with Special Guest Leela James
DESCRIPTION:Beautiful\, simply does not describe the incomparable force known to the world as Patti LaBelle. As time continues to evolve\, the soulful songbird’s name has become synonymous with grace\, style\, elegance and class. Belting out classic rhythm and blues renditions\, pop standards and spiritual sonnets have created the unique platform of versatility that Ms. Patti is known and revered for. As she continues into her fourth decade of performing\, the Philadelphia maven has returned to her roots with her latest project\, The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle. “I was born gospel\, so it’s not like I’m coming back or trying to impress people with this new gospel project. I’ve always done this. I’ve never done a whole album. That’s the only thing that’s missing\,” observes the songstress. “I’ve come full circle where you can say it’s a complete project.” The church tour accompanied the release of The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle. It began at The Potter’s House in Texas\, home to Bishop TD Jakes. Patti was blessed to have gospel legend Shirley Ceasar pray a special prayer\, “for people to accept me as the new carrier of His word. God is working on me\, He’s working through me\, and He’s putting changes all over me – positive. I know I’m chosen. I know this is something I was meant to do. For 10 years now I’ve been trying to do this gospel album and I finally did it. And it feels so good singing these songs.” For Ms. Patti\, she simply desires for her fans not to judge her with this record and to be aware that this gift is from her heart and deep within her soul. “I want them to take away a beautiful message. I want them to take away a beautiful CD\, which means take it home\, buy it so that we can help with this cancer calling.” That humility and honesty has been the true gospel according to Patti LaBelle. “Staying a person that people can say they encountered and she was very\, very giving. She didn’t get Hollywood on us. I never want to be thought of as a Hollywood person\, you know the people who don’t have time for the people who made them.” The same motivation that had Patricia Louis Holt blossom from a choir member to lead vocalist for Patti LaBelle & The Bluebelles to a solo artist is the same energy that keeps her fire burning at six-two years young. “Each year I grow\, and that’s a blessing from God. I do what I can do. I do what I feel God has given me the energy to do\, so I just go out there and I do it-It’s not about making money because I don’t need money\, but I need to sing. With a voice or without\, I’ve got to get on that stage.” And the world is thankful that Ms. Patti’s preaching sounds so good to our ears. With a voice that’s raw\, powerful\, and unmistakably soul-stirring\, Leela James has carved out a singular space in music where classic soul meets contemporary R&B. Since her breakout debut A Change Is Gonna Come in 2005\, Leela has earned a reputation for blending deep\, emotive storytelling with gritty vocals and timeless grooves. Influenced by legends like Aretha Franklin\, Al Green\, and Chaka Khan\, she channels the spirit of old-school soul while fearlessly pushing musical boundaries. Early in her career\, she was honored by the legendary James Brown\, who affectionately coined her “The Goddaughter of Soul\,” recognizing her authentic voice and powerful connection to the roots of the genre. Ms. James has gone on to record and release seven LPs\, delivering eight Top 20 R&B radio singles\, including two Number One tracks on the Billboard charts. Her 2021 single “Complicated” topped the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart for three consecutive weeks in the summer of that year\, solidifying her reputation as a force in contemporary soul. Her beloved ballad “Fall For You” is now considered a modern classic and was certified Gold in October 2022\, surpassing 500\,000 units sold. Over the years\, her music—including hits like “Don’t Want You Back” and “Say That” featuring Anthony Hamilton—has become synonymous with passion\, authenticity\, and emotional honesty. In 2014\, Leela won The Soul Train Certified Award\, and in 2021\, she garnered an NAACP Image Award nomination for Best R&B Collaboration. She earned another NAACP nomination in 2025 for her powerful single “Lookat Whatcha Done Now” featuring Kenyon Dixon\, further cementing her role as a vital and enduring voice in modern soul.

Tony Terry Facebook | Instagram | Twitter As folks reflect upon the emergence of urban adult contemporary music in the 1980s\, discussions often veer toward Luther or Anita. But deep fans don’t underestimate the contribution of GRAMMY Nominated and Soul Train Award winning singer and songwriter Tony Terry. After graduating from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington\, D.C.\, he sang backing vocals for several R&B groups A Maryland native\, Terry moved to New York as a young man in search of a career as a solo singer\, and it wasn’t long before singing in local clubs led to a signing by Epic Records. For his 1987 debut album\, Forever Yours\, Terry and his team aimed squarely at the emerging New Jack Swing market\, landing two top 10 hits with “She’s Fly” and “Lovey Dovey.” But it was a strategic turn on his sophomore disc that solidified Terry’s spot in soul music history as a balladeer supreme with his Classic hit “With You“. “With You” was a romantic ballad that Epic didn’t believe in\, but Terry knew was a hit. It slowly percolated\, without label support\, on Quiet Storm radio\, ultimately landing in the Top 10 and giving Terry his signature hit. When Anita Baker heard that Epic wouldn’t pay for a music video for the song\, she fronted Terry $50\,000 and brought in Blair Underwood to direct what would become one of the more popular music videos of the era.
