The New York-born\, Montreal-raised singer-songwriter has released ten studio albums to date\, three DVDs\, and three live albums including the GRAMMY® nominated Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall. I switched it up for ‘Summer Rain’ and wrote the music first\, then the words. I wrote the lyrics with my mother and think it’s beautiful. It’s about a guy who sees a pretty lady in the rain and falls for her instantly. It’s important to remember those moments…especially when that person makes you angry! Reflect on that memory. You’ll be more humble and understanding.” \nEqually inspired\, but in a completely different light is Summer Rain’s other vocal piece\, “Thankful\,” a heartfelt offering of gratitude sent up to Jesus in song. “It’s important to give thanks to The Lord\,” she says. “‘Thankful’ came from my heart with lyrics that I truly feel deeply.” \n***** \nJeanette Harris was born and raised in California’s post-Gold Rush town of Fresno in the center of the San Joaquin Valley. Reared by her mother\, Annette\, and her church organist father\, Floyd Harris – both of deep spiritual faith and intense believers in the art of music – Jeanette and her older brother\, Michael\, received their love of God and family genetically. \n“When I was 5\, my father put a guitar in my hands\,” Jeanette begins. “A year later\, he switched me to piano with a private teacher. I didn’t like it. Reading treble and bass clefs was so overwhelming that I would cry\, but it gave me a great jumpstart. One day while driving me to 4th grade\, Mom was playing a cassette by Grover Washington\, Jr. I remember looking at the picture of his alto sax. It was beautiful and Grover made it look so hip. I felt it would be the perfect instrument for me.” \nJeanette played saxophone and piano from grade school to high school where band teacher Steve Alcala also had her play in the Fresno City College jazz band even before she graduated high school. She won numerous awards and accolades\, which led to a scholarship to attend Berklee in Boston where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. \nBack in Fresno\, Jeanette recorded her first self-released CD\, Here and There\, grabbing brother Michael to play drums with Patrick Olvera on bass\, and began building a following by regularly packing Mike’s Pub & Pizzeria. She recorded her official debut album Reflections followed by Smooth Holiday Greetings on her family’s J&M Records (Jeanette & Michael’s initials\, Mom and Dad’s funds). \nCiting her influences\, Jeanette continues\, “(Saxophonist) Richard Elliot brought some serious R&B groove at a time when smooth jazz really needed more of that funk vibe\, especially his song ‘Corner Pocket.’ I just loved his production! As a composer\, Stevie Wonder’s music touches the hearts of people with lyrics that have strong meanings\, and beautiful chords and melodies. And (guitarist) Norman Brown is the one that inspired me to want to be a performer when my parents took me to see him for my very first concert at The Bastille in Hanford\, CA. He gave me chills!” After crossing paths with Brown on the road\, Jeanette co-wrote a song with him that became the title track of her fourth CD\, Saxified. Brown recorded the song on his Grammy nominated CD\, 24/7\, with a different title\, “The Best is Yet to Come” featuring Gerald Albright. “To have Gerald playing a melody that I wrote is so amazing\,” Jeanette shares. Jeanette has played major events from The Coombs River Bend Ranch Festival to festivals in Japan and London.  She has performed as a side musician with Howard Hewett and Deniece Williams and has opened shows for greats ranging from smooth jazz stars Kirk Whalum\, Najee and The Rippingtons to R&B stars Babyface\, Phil Perry and KEM. “I got a standing ovation opening for KEM\,” Jeanette beams. “He came out to meet me and get my CD. His people said he never does that! That let me know my music does crossover.” \nThe most special person to come along in the course of Ms. Harris’ career thus far was singer/songwriter Marie\, who hired her unheard/unseen in a destiny-streaked leap of faith totally befitting Jeanette’s life and beliefs. “Her trumpet player saw me at the 2010 NAMM Show and asked for my business card. It had already been an unbelievable day where I got endorsements for both Unison saxophones and BARI Reeds. As I was driving home\, the guy called me and asked if I wanted to play with Teena for a concert…in London! I couldn’t believe it. I got 4 hours sleep that night studying her music then drove to L.A. for the audition. I had to pull off the freeway when Teena called me personally to get my passport information. The band tested my improvising skills on a funk song and a ballad – then I was in! Teena finally arrived\, gave me a big hug and away we went. She featured me in her last concerts playing sax on ‘I’m a Sucker for Your Love’ and ‘Portuguese Love\,’ and flute on ‘Déjà vu.’ She was truly a blessing in my life. Teena taught me how to be a strong female leader. I will miss her always.” \nNow with her fourth and finest CD Summer Rain bowing with her own signature Summer Rain perfume to match\, Jeanette Harris is unquestionably the next “Starchild of the Saxophone” touching hearts with every breath she takes.

The family later migrated to New York City and presented free concerts in Central Park for 10 years. In 2016 British film producer and director Jeymes Samuel discovered Victory and sent a video of her singing in Central Park to Jay-Z. Jay-Z personally signed Victory and her family in 2016. In 2018 Victory released her debut album “The Broken Instrument” which went on to garner fans globally and caused her to gain recognition from hip-hop mogul Kanye West who later invited Victory to help him write his first Gospel Album entitled Jesus is King\, winning Victory her first Grammy as a songwriter. Armed with an unparalleled combination of lyricism and energy\, he combines elements of jazz\, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience. \nBorn in 1954 in Luton\, a small town north of London\, White and his family moved to nearby Letchworth shortly after he was born. As a child\, he learned to play several musical instruments\, including the clarinet\, trombone\, violin and piano. And of course\, like so many youngsters growing up during the heyday of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones\, he gravitated to the guitar. \nHe learned his first chords on an acoustic guitar\, then bought his first electric guitar in his early teens and studied the recordings of the reigning guitar gods of the day – Jimi Hendrix\, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. But his musical aspirations ultimately veered back in an acoustic direction following an accident that doomed his beloved electric guitar. The axe was destroyed in a fire\, one that White’s younger brother Danny – an aspiring pianist – accidentally started. \n“The funny thing is that Danny didn’t actually admit to setting that fire for at least twenty-five years\,” says White. “I had been kind of obsessed with the electric guitar at that point in my life\, so that episode kind of forced me to go back to playing the acoustic. In retrospect\, that’s a good thing.” \nIndeed\, White’s interests after the accident shifted more toward the music of acoustic artists like Crosby\, Stills and Nash\, James Taylor\, and Joni Mitchell. Plugged or unplugged\, he had decided by his late teens that music was his calling\, and his first professional gig was at a holiday resort in England when he was 19 years old. \nBarely a year later\, he was invited to join Al Stewart’s band as a keyboardist for a tour of England\, Scotland\, and the U.S. in 1975. In addition to opening for artists like Linda Ronstadt\, Billy Joel and Queen\, White worked with Stewart in the studio in the making of Year of the Cat\, which became a huge hit for Stewart in 1976. The tour and the album marked the beginning of a twenty-year association with Stewart. In that time\, the two musicians co-wrote numerous songs\, including Stewart’s 1978 hit\, “Time Passages.” \nBy the beginning of the ‘80s\, White and Stewart had relocated to Los Angeles\, formed a band called Shot in the Dark\, and established a music publishing company called Lobster Music. Around the same time\, Danny White – he of the burning guitar incident several years earlier – formed a group called Matt Bianco\, which included a talented Polish singer named Basia Trzetrzelewska. Danny White and Basia splintered off to launch the singer’s solo career with the 1987 debut album\, Time and Tide\, which featured Peter White on guitar. \nAfter fifteen years as a backup musician and a session player\, White launched his solo recording career with the 1990 release of Reveillez-Vous (French for “Wake up\,” a title chosen by White in honor of his French mother). The album included several unused songs that White had written for Stewart\, and it became a favorite among contemporary jazz radio stations. \nHe followed with three records on the Sindrome label – Excusez-Moi (1991)\, Promenade (1993) and Reflections (1994) – before signing with Columbia for the 1996 release of Caravan of Dreams. Armed with an unparalleled combination of lyricism and energy\, he combines elements of jazz\, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience. \nBorn in 1954 in Luton\, a small town north of London\, White and his family moved to nearby Letchworth shortly after he was born. As a child\, he learned to play several musical instruments\, including the clarinet\, trombone\, violin and piano. And of course\, like so many youngsters growing up during the heyday of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones\, he gravitated to the guitar. \nHe learned his first chords on an acoustic guitar\, then bought his first electric guitar in his early teens and studied the recordings of the reigning guitar gods of the day – Jimi Hendrix\, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. But his musical aspirations ultimately veered back in an acoustic direction following an accident that doomed his beloved electric guitar. The axe was destroyed in a fire\, one that White’s younger brother Danny – an aspiring pianist – accidentally started. \n“The funny thing is that Danny didn’t actually admit to setting that fire for at least twenty-five years\,” says White. “I had been kind of obsessed with the electric guitar at that point in my life\, so that episode kind of forced me to go back to playing the acoustic. In retrospect\, that’s a good thing.” \nIndeed\, White’s interests after the accident shifted more toward the music of acoustic artists like Crosby\, Stills and Nash\, James Taylor\, and Joni Mitchell. Plugged or unplugged\, he had decided by his late teens that music was his calling\, and his first professional gig was at a holiday resort in England when he was 19 years old. \nBarely a year later\, he was invited to join Al Stewart’s band as a keyboardist for a tour of England\, Scotland\, and the U.S. in 1975. In addition to opening for artists like Linda Ronstadt\, Billy Joel and Queen\, White worked with Stewart in the studio in the making of Year of the Cat\, which became a huge hit for Stewart in 1976. The tour and the album marked the beginning of a twenty-year association with Stewart. In that time\, the two musicians co-wrote numerous songs\, including Stewart’s 1978 hit\, “Time Passages.” \nBy the beginning of the ‘80s\, White and Stewart had relocated to Los Angeles\, formed a band called Shot in the Dark\, and established a music publishing company called Lobster Music. Around the same time\, Danny White – he of the burning guitar incident several years earlier – formed a group called Matt Bianco\, which included a talented Polish singer named Basia Trzetrzelewska. Danny White and Basia splintered off to launch the singer’s solo career with the 1987 debut album\, Time and Tide\, which featured Peter White on guitar. \nAfter fifteen years as a backup musician and a session player\, White launched his solo recording career with the 1990 release of Reveillez-Vous (French for “Wake up\,” a title chosen by White in honor of his French mother). The album included several unused songs that White had written for Stewart\, and it became a favorite among contemporary jazz radio stations. \nHe followed with three records on the Sindrome label – Excusez-Moi (1991)\, Promenade (1993) and Reflections (1994) – before signing with Columbia for the 1996 release of Caravan of Dreams. Why? He used to live in a college town with all the college town stuff that musicians like. He fell in love with these Cane Corso Mastiff puppies on Instagram that a guy in Brazil was breeding\, and Charlie had recently made some money on a crypto coin called Shiba Inu\, that was enough to pay for the dog and shipping. The puppy from Brazil that Charlie picked up in Arkansas would grow to be 130 lbs\, and quite a handful. After the dog bit a friend in the little town Charlie was living in\, his brother found some clear cut land in the middle of nowhere with a weird house on it\, and Charlie decided to buy it and move there. His dog needed some space and he was burned out on the whole “modern thing”. His Grandfather was a cattle farmer and a lot of the people he respected did things close to the land he purchased. He got rid of a television and learned how to harvest vegetables. He introduced himself to his neighbors and started writing about what was around him in his new country home. \nGrowing up in Mississippi\, he was a kid who listened to the radio a lot. WNSL played 80’s pop radio hits\, and he also got into classic singer-songwriters like Neil Young and Jackson Browne. \nWhen he was in high school\, he formed his first band that played a mix of covers and originals. They would play at the local VFW and Charlie remembers his mother would often need to drive the band members home in her station wagon when they drank too much at gigs. \nCharlie would start to write his own songs with the intent of never squeezing himself into a single genre. He tried to keep his initial songs “classic”\, and he always liked Country music (the less popular kind). He then got into Jam Bands and Alt-Country music\, especially Uncle Tupelo. He majored in English while attending college at SMU in Dallas\, and always liked being a wordsmith. A friend introduced Charlie to Daniel Lanois’ music\, which inspired him to start experimenting more with atmospheric sounds. Like any songwriter worth his salt\, Mars employs his art as a channel towards personal discovery\, candidly exploring all the human limitations – from pride and fear to cynicism self-doubt – that stand in the way of his attaining true happiness. \nHe has released 7 studio albums\, a series of EPs\, and several singles over the past 20 years. He’s shared the stage with the likes of REM\, KT Tunstall and Steve Earle\, and has been profiled in Forbes\, USA Today\, American Songwriter and many major media outlets. If you ask him\, Charlie says he’s made a living playing in small clubs and backyards. But he still wants to have a tour bus and play in front of big crowds. “It’s fun to have a dream. It keeps me going” he says. “I can’t believe I made it this far in music. His paintings\, primarily acrylic on tarred board and watercolors\, now hang in art galleries around the southeast and in the private collections of Tyler Childers\, Mike Wolfe (American Pickers)\, Rick Hirsch (Wet Willie)\, Tommy Stinson (The Replacements) and Tommy Prine.
