Richmond sets early tone with 8–1 surge, Altoona sweep

The Richmond Flying Squirrels didn’t just start fast—they made a statement.

At 8–1, capped by a six-game sweep of Altoona, Richmond has leaned on a lineup that keeps coming. Turner Hill (.321, 10 runs) and Dayson Croes (.324, 12 hits) have set the tone, while Drew Cavanaugh has been the early standout, hitting .400 with a 1.371 OPS.

But the difference has been depth. Jonah Cox (.357, 8 RBIs), Scott Bandura (10 hits), and Bo Davidson (2 HR) have all delivered in key spots, giving Richmond multiple ways to win—whether it’s late rallies, power bursts, or small-ball execution.

Nine games in, the Squirrels aren’t just winning—they’re showing how many ways they can do it.
